Built in a natural amphitheatre facing the lake, Rolle is one of the most recognisable small towns on La Côte. Its 13th-century château sits on a near-island promontory that encloses the marina, giving the lakeside promenade a character few other towns on this stretch of shore can match. The compact old town gives way, to the north, to vineyards that climb gently towards the first slopes of the Jura.
Well connected for everyday life
Rolle has its own railway station on the Lausanne–Geneva line, with direct trains to both economic hubs of the Lake Geneva region and an A1 motorway junction just minutes from the centre, handy for commuters. Local shops, a secondary school in town and quick access to health services round out a practical daily life, away from the bustle of the bigger centres.
A varied residential market
Rolle’s housing stock mixes small older buildings in the historic centre and a handful of more recent apartment blocks on the outskirts. It also includes villas scattered among the vineyards or up on the slopes, many with lake and Alps views. That variety draws young professionals after a pied-à-terre near the station as much as families looking for a quieter setting. As elsewhere on La Côte, price levels stay firm; our figures for the area, updated with every edition, are gathered on our price-per-square-metre page.
LCR Immo, an agency based in Nyon since 2015, works in Rolle as it does across French-speaking Switzerland and the neighbouring French border area: valuation, staging and full support from the first viewing through to signing.
