Between a UNESCO vineyard and a medieval castle
The town is framed by two of the most visited sites in French-speaking Switzerland: the terraced Lavaux vineyards, a UNESCO World Heritage site, stretch out just to the west, while Chillon Castle watches over the shoreline a few minutes to the east. The railway station, on the Lausanne–Simplon line, links Montreux to Lausanne in around twenty minutes and to the rest of Switzerland and northern Italy via the Simplon pass.
