Stretching along Lake Geneva between Lausanne and Montreux, Vevey combines economic prominence with an easy-going lakeside pace of life. The town is home to the world headquarters of Nestlé. Its Grande Place, one of the largest lakeside squares in Europe, hosts markets, flea markets and major events throughout the year.
The old town, with its narrow streets and stately townhouses, contrasts with newer neighbourhoods spreading up towards the hills above.
A strong cultural identity
Charlie Chaplin spent his final years in the region, and the Chaplin’s World museum, just minutes from the centre, keeps that legacy alive while drawing an international audience. Festivals, concert halls and galleries sustain a rich cultural life, boosted by the immediate proximity of Montreux and its own busy events calendar.
A rail hub on the Lausanne–Simplon line
Vevey’s CFF station offers direct connections to Lausanne, Montreux and, further afield, Valais and Italy via the Simplon Pass. The local bus network fills in the gaps, and the A9 motorway is just minutes away. The terraced Lavaux vineyards, a UNESCO World Heritage site, begin right at the edge of town. It’s a sought-after setting for walks and for properties with a view.
A housing stock split between old and new
Vevey’s housing stock is split between older buildings in the historic centre, often full of character with generous ceiling heights, and newer construction in the outlying and hillside neighbourhoods. This variety supports very different searches, from a city-centre studio to a house with a lake view; our price benchmarks by neighbourhood are gathered on our price-per-square-metre page.
From Nyon, LCR Immo follows the Vevey market for its buyers, sellers and tenants: our knowledge of the Vaud Riviera and our regional network let us work here with the same rigour we apply in Nyon.
